Homework. Homework? Homework!

Homework in 3rd grade is going online to Dreambox and Reading Eggspress for 15 minutes at least 3 times a week for each program. Your student can access these programs through the Sunderland Elementary School web site (http://www.frsu38.org/ses ). The need to go to Library Media Center (http://www.frsu38.org/olc/teacher.aspx?s=4) and scroll down to find 3rd Grade projects (http://www.frsu38.org/olc/page.aspx?id=654&s=4) on the left side of the page. From there, they can click on the program and sign in using the usernames and passwords I sent home previously. If you do not have access to the internet at home there are computers at the Sunderland Public Library. Also I will give students time  on the computers first thing in the morning.
You may also see some specific paper homework come home randomly. This will be make up work or work missed during regular school time.

If you have any questions don’t hesitate to make contact with me!

                Thanks, Lisa Zadworny

A visit from Mr. Thomas Fydenkevez

The class is participating in a poster contest about local government. We began reading about local government in our text book Massachusetts Our Home.Today Mr Thomas Fydenkevez came in and talked to the class about Sunderland's government. We began planning our posters. Each child had to pick one of the following statements
Local government is smart
Local government is clean
Local government is fun
Local government is helpful
Local government issafe
They are now going to create a poster illustrating the statement they choose. You will be getting a permission slip which you will need to sign allowing your student's poster to be submitted.

We are looking forward to a visit from meteorologist Brian Lapis next week. On Fridays we have been leaning about weather, clouds, and storms. He will help to enrich our current curriculum. I will then be introducing the possibility of another poster contest. This contest is to depict weather in New England. The winners will be printed in the Daily Hampshire Gazette.

Do you ever wish you were a fly on the wall at school?
